Careers at Meaningful Change

Career Philosophy

Meaningful Change: Clinical & Consultation Psychology is committed to recruiting, training, and cultivating highly skilled and motivated mental health professionals who are devoted to facilitating effective patient outcomes. Towards meeting this goal, we maintain an open recruitment policy where professionals of all disciplines seeking careers in providing scientifically informed mental health services are encouraged to submit applications for review, even if no formal positions are available.

Future colleagues may express their interest via an application that includes a cover letter with a clear statement of purpose, and a curriculum vitae/resume, to the practice director via email: director@meaningfulchange.com.

Clinical and Professional Fit

Clinicians who are looking to integrate into our practice should have an empirically informed treatment approach, demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, and share our dedication to patient care. A clear commitment to the practice mission, treatment philosophy, and inter-disciplinary collaboration is necessary. Within this framework we look for treatment providers to offer expertise in a range of treatment modalities while developing their specialty areas. Long term academic and research goals are a bonus.

Future colleagues should also be a good fit in terms of practice culture. Outside of the professional activities that are our daily functions, we aim to maintain a practice culture that is open, jovial, interpersonally playful, and where meaningful collegiate and mentor relationships can thrive. In a discipline where the work is always serious and consequential, we strive for levity in our office culture.

What we Offer

Meaningful Change: Clinical & Consultation Psychology is pleased to provide a professional, clinically driven, safe, and collaborative work environment, where treatment providers can expect reliable compensation and leadership. Our clinical staff are encouraged to pursue excellence in patient care, professional development, and collegiate collaboration, while leaving the burden of administrative tasks, referrals, marketing, and finances, to our practice management team. We are proud to be a genuine multi-disciplinary practice where psychology, psychiatry, counseling and social work can collaborate to optimize patient outcomes.

Why Private Practice?

As compared to the larger group practices and medical systems, our small outpatient private practice allows clinicians to focus on their primary interest – patient care, without the burdens of bureaucratic red tape, micromanagement, or hidden expectations. Clinical staff at this practice enjoy greater decision-making autonomy, choice of clientele, freedom to tailor treatment plans, and encouragement to develop their clinical specialties. Treatment providers enjoy the flexibility of setting their work schedules within our private practice structure, are never asked to take on-call hours, and over time, may elect for a mix of in-person, and online sessions.

Small Town Living

The Practice is located in the town of Mount Pleasant, which is in the heart of Central Michigan. Candidates may find the benefits of small town living, with its slower pace, short commute times, and significantly lower cost of living, attractive features when considering a relocation for work. Abundant access to nature, quieter nights, and greater sense of community, are also benefits. With Central Michigan University nearby, Mount Pleasant boasts a host of restaurants, bars, performance arts, and social activities.
