Erin Sol, PA-C

Physician Assistant in Psychiatry

Personal Statement

As a Physician Assistant specialized in Psychiatry, I treat patients with an understanding that the medical, psychological, and behavioral domains are all important in the treatment of mental health and its complex disorders. I consider it my duty to help my patients understand how their mental health symptoms are connected to their physical health and offer them multiple treatment options that are created for each patient’s symptoms set.

I believe that by providing patients with education on medications, foods, diet, and physical activity, along with small strategic changes in those domains, it will lead to long term and curative changes. I am deeply motivated to provide the best standard of practice in psychiatric medicine and remain committed to spending time with my patients, colleagues, and surveying the needed research in order to provide the most-effective care.

Practice Philosophy & Treatment Approach

Erin’s treatment approach strives to integrate functional medicine with psychiatry and identify the root causes of one’s mental health disturbance in order to provide effective treatments. Her treatments take a comprehensive approach consisting of reviewing lab work, diet, sleep, physical activity and considering interpersonal relationships in order to see each patient as a whole system. Erin also strongly urges all patients to consider psychotherapy or counseling and is pleased to work in an integrated office which offers extensive therapies, psychological/diagnostic evaluations and consultation that offer a specificity that medicine alone cannot. Patients who receive medication management and psychotherapy at Meaningful Change, also receive in-house coordinated care at our routine clinical rounds/team meetings. Erin’s approach involves routine consultation with fellow medical providers, as well as mental health professionals providing services for shared patients.

Treatment Focus & Specialty

Erin enjoys working with all patient populations but has a special place in her heart for "hard to treat" or "treatment resistant" patients, especially those with personality disorders, trauma, chronic pain or those who identify as being "stuck" and are seeking change. She views each new patient as an opportunity to meet their mental health needs, offer new perspectives, and learn from their unique presentation. Patients who are tired of the mainstream approach to psychiatry and are looking for a different perspective on psychiatric treatments may find a good fit in her care.
